An official toxicology report has revealed that Amy Winehouse had no illegal drugs in her system the day she died.

Amy was found dead in her north London flat on July 23. The results of the test were told to her relieved father Mitch who said  he was pleased to now be able to “set the record straight”.

This doesn’t make me feel the loss of my daughter any less, but we are pleased to be able to set the record straight to a certain extent. Reg has said that the person that she has been painted as in some quarters was just so far away from the Amy he knew. Some of the stories of her last few days were just not how they led their life together.

There were some traces of alcohol found in the Back to Black singers body but her family still do not know if alcohol lead to her death. It was reported Amy was drinking heavily at goddaughter Dionne Bromfield’s gig at the iTunes Festival only 72 hours before she died.

Amy’s family still do not know the actual cause of her death as the inquest is still ongoing, but we’re sure they are relieved to discover that her death wasn’t drug related.

The cause of Amy Winehouse’s death will not be announced until the inquest verdict is unveiled on October 26.
