Jennifer Hudson is said to be joining Kelly Rowland as a guest X Factor mentor for the judges houses stage of the competition in Miami. Both singers will be mentoring the girls.

It had been rumoured that Usher was first in line for this position, but he ended up pulling out. However, The Sun reported that Kelly is ‘thrilled’ with Usher’s replacement and we are too.

The Sex And The City star is a great asset to the show as she has been through a similar experience when she made it to the final of American Idol in 2004. Without Cheryl Cole on the panel anymore, Jennifer Hudson is the only singer that can relate to how the X Factor hopefuls may be feeling during this daunting process and sympathise with what they are going through.

Although Jennifer didn’t win American Idol she went on to achieve great success with a string of hits and an outstanding cross-genre pool of major awards (including an Oscar, Grammy, BAFTA and Golden Globe) under her belt we can’t think of anyone more qualified for the job.

Do you guys think this duo have what it takes to find this years winner in their category? Or would Usher have been a better mentor? Share your thoughts.
