Chart toppers Tinie Tempah, Adele and Katy B all missed out on the prestigious Barclaycard Mercury Award last night which was held at London Grosvenor Hotel.

The award which celebrates the best released album of the year from UK and Ireland was won by alternative singer/songwriter PJ Harvey for the second time!

London based rapper Ghostpoet also lost out on the award and the £20,000 cash prize. Previous winners include Ms Dynamite, Dizzee Rascal and everyone’s favourite take-the-money-and-run rapper Speech Debelle.

Are we the only ones thinking how many shoes we could have bought with £20,000!?
