It seems that Tinie Tempah could give Rick Ross a run for his money these days after spending a whopping $37,500 (about £23,000) on a pair of Nike Air Mags made famous by Michael J Fox in the film Back to the Future Part II.

The Marty McFly trainers feature a glowing LED panel and an electroluminescent Nike in the strap and are an exact replica of those worn in the film, making them the most ambitious design that Nike has ever produced.

150 pairs a day are currently being auctioned on eBay, with prices averaging around $5000 (£3,150) each. All proceeds will go to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

Tinie’s rep reportedly told TMZ that he is a serious shoe freak and fell in love with the shoes at the auction in L.A yesterday. Tinie Tempah is the first person to own a pair.

We’re not sure if we are feeling the Back to the Future swag, or the price tag, but it’s great that the money is going towards a good cause. Tinie, we expect to see these in your next video mate.

What do you guys think of the extravagant purchase?
