As we reported last week David Haye announced his retirement from boxing but the former heavyweight and cruiserweight champion now wants to take on Hollywood.

Determined to keep busy now that he’s hung up the gloves Haye has been in talks and is lining himself up with an acting career. He said

Once you don’t have any drive, focus or desire that’s when I assume you start spiralling downhill so the acting will be something new for me. I want to go into action films. I am looking forward to it.

The next phase for me is trying to become the best possible actor I can be and taking the same sort of philosophy and mindset I had in the ring into the acting world. It will be a good way for me to keep training as well. My whole life I have been in good condition so I just have to keep that up.

Sounds like an interesting venture, but if Haye’s  broken toe act when he lost the WBA title to Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko was a sample of what we can expect, then his acting career may be more of a knock out than a sell out.
