SB.TV founder and CEO Jamal Edwards took to Twitter today to vent his frustration towards exclusive Kensington night club Amika who cancelled the Spirit of London Awards afterparty at the last minute. The decision angered many who attended the event which celebrates young talent and success across communities in London.

The despicable ploy was revealed in an impassioned speech on stage by Gary Trowsdale, managing director of the Damilola Taylor Trust – the organisation which organises the Spirit of London Awards. Trowsdale was disgusted by the behaviour of Amika and exposed their dastardly actions in a scathing attack at the end of the night.

He revealed that Amika representatives who were present on the night spoke to Tinchy Stryder, Jermaine Defoe, Stacey Solomon and other celebrities backstage to find out who was going to the afterparty.

When Amika executives discovered that the celebs were not planning on going to their club, which is just around the corner from the Royal Albert Hall, they pulled the plug, disappointing thousands of young people who had been looking forward to the event. It is believed that Amika felt that without the celebs, the remainder of the crowd would not have suited their venue.

SB.TV’s Jamal Edwards joined in the disappointment when he took to Twitter.

Spirit of London also showed their anger towards their so called sponsors.

Lets just say that Amika pissed a whole lot of people off. What do you make of their stunt? Share your thoughts.
