23-year-old Osasu Oyemwimina from Edmonton won a one-on-one recording session with one of the UK’s most popular urban artists Wretch 32, through the Barclaycard Unwind and Choice FM, Music Potential programme that took place over the summer. Osasu Oyemwimina, whose stage name is Sasman said of the experience
I am ecstatic…. it really has been a life changing experience. Out of the hundreds that submitted their tracks I was chosen. This really has confirmed for me that, yes I can produce, I am able to make music and all those voices that say ‘you can’t do it’ this is confirmation that I can. Working in the studio with Wretch 32 has been an amazing experience he was so humble, he gave me lots of advice from a musical perspective, he said the track could be played in the clubs which is where I really want it played. It’s been a great day.

Supporting Music Potential has been a great experience, from sitting on the panel and giving out advice to now being able to spend some quality time with an up and coming artist is amazing. When you are at this stage in your career, you need all the encouragement and support you can get and I hope that my involvement will inspire Osasu and others who want to have a career in music.
We hope Wretch 32 can make another fan’s dream come true, as there is a current plea on Twitter to get him to perform at tragic club death victim, Nabila Nanfuka’s memorial service.
