Mario Balotelli may have landed himself in trouble with the Mafia, after he told a court in Italy that he saw drugs at a Mob boss’s home.

The Manchester City footballer, who is a witness in an investigation into money-laundering , probably shouldn’t have been there in the first place but he claims he was only trying to hire a yacht when he found himself at the headquarters of the Camorra crime family.

The Italian media have reported that the former Inter Milan striker said in court:

I saw, from 10m, a table full of drugs.

Sensing that something was wrong, Ballotelli immediately demanded to be taken back to his hotel. The 21-year-old has claimed his testimony is “nothing to worry about”, but this is coming from a man who nearly set his house on fire, so now is probably the time to start worrying for him.
