A 25-year-old Ugandan woman is facing jail after scamming a British businessman out of £2.4 million.

Shanita Namuyimba was introduced to 53-year-old David Greenhalgh by a Portuguese businessman three years ago and the two planned to start a property business in Uganda together. However Greenhalgh, who runs an aviation consultancy firm and has business interests across Africa, soon discovered that Namuyimba was not the savvy business woman he thought she was, but a party girl with expensive tastes.

It’s claimed that Greenhalgh became obsessed with Namuyimba, making repeated trips to see her in the Ugandan capital of Kampala. But despite his generosity Namuyimba, known as ‘Bad Black’, is said to have spent the cash on luxury cars for herself and friends, expensive drinks in exclusive nightclubs for her followers and even spent money on a string of lovers!

The married tycoon, who is clearly still besotted with Namuyimba, said it’s not the loss of his money that bothers him, but her unfaithfulness

Misusing the money is not a big issue to me. What hurts me is to spend my money with other men. They squander my resources and then abuse me

The mother of two claims she is pregnant with Greenhalgh’s child and he is still paying money to support Namuyimba’s two young children from other white men. He continues  to text her saying he loves her and sent her £40,000 as a birthday present

Greenhalgh even shared a passionate kiss with Namuyimba during the hearing at the Anti-Corruption Court in Kampala.

But a source close to the police investigation told the Daily Mail:

People here believe that she has used witchcraft on him, made him drink a black magic potion, to make him besotted with her

Namuyimba denies the charges of embezzlement and claims the money was a gift. She faces 14 years in jail if convicted
