Anton Ferdinand is being encouraged by his club, Queen’s Park Rangers to shake John Terry’s hand in the upcoming FA cup game on Saturday. This will be the first time the two players will have come face-to-face since the incident where John Terry was accused of racially abusing the 26-year-old defender in October last year.

Terry will appear in court next Tuesday over the racial abuse allegations, though there are fears that tension on the pitch will arise if Ferdinand dismisses Terry’s gesture in the FA’s traditional pre-match handshake.

If Ferdinand gives Terry the cold shoulder, it would make it the second time a player has refused to shake the England captain’s hand. Back in 2010 Manchester City’s Wayne Bridge snubbed Terry’s handshake after it was reported that Terry had, had an affair with his former girlfriend.

Will we be seeing a repeat of one of  2010’s most memorable moments in football this Saturday?
