Queen Park Ranger’s footballer Anton Ferdinand was sent a bullet in the post before this weekend’s game against Chelsea.
The bullet was found in a letter addressed to Ferdinand and was hand-delivered to the Rangers’ Loftus Road ground. Officials from both clubs visited a police station last night to talk about the death threat.
QPR are set to play Chelsea at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon, and both clubs are preparing for any trouble amongst fans. Ferdinand will also be receiving a police escort to the game.
A police spokesman said
I can confirm we are investigating an allegation of malicious communication received today at Queens Park Rangers football club.
Ferdinand is reportedly in two minds over whether to shake Terry’s hand at the match, fearing a backlash from his fans.
