Rapper Dizzee Rascal has admitted that he really likes making mainstream pop records, despite starting out as a grime artist. In an interview on Radio 1 he explained to DJ Zane Lowe:
I think some people think that I was pressured into it but it was my choice. I like making big pop records. It was something I wanted to try my hand at.
Fans witnessed much more of a pop style on Dizzee’s 2009 album Tongue N’ Cheek and the east London star insisted that he wants to continue making big pop tracks in the future and has included them on his upcoming fifth studio album saying:
When I did Dance Wiv Me, Bonkers and Holiday it was all experimental, that was all I wanted to do, and it’s worked, so I don’t see any reason not to do it.
Hmm we hope his fans don’t mind this new pop edge!
