Leomie Anderson revealed today that she was turned away from a casting in Berlin, Germany for being black. The 18-year-old beauty of Jamaican descent tweeted,

The Premier Model Management star, who is in Berlin for fashion week, then told her followers how a woman at the casting pointed to her, another black girl and a Chinese girl, telling them to leave

Booker Annie Wilshaw admitted last year that Leomie would have a tougher time than her fellow white models, as racism still exists in the industry, particularly in Paris and Milan. She told the Guardian last year:

Yes, I’d say the industry is racist. In Milan black girls never work. In Paris it’s still the same. It’s 2011 and that’s quite disgusting, really.

Judging from her Twitter profile however, we think Leomie handled the situation in a mature manner, simply describing it as ‘just another obstacle to face’.
