Forget intimidating opponents and being attacked with glass bottles, Dereck Chisora has admitted that his mum scares him more than anyone else, including David Haye who he ended up in a bloody brawl with last week.
The 28-year-old is now facing his licence being taken from him on 14 March as punishment for his punch up at the press conference after his fight with WBC world champion Vitali Klitschko.
Chisora revealed to the Sun that his mum Viola made him realise how serious the repercussions of him losing his temper could be and that she was not impressed with his behaviour:
Everyone is so annoyed with me, especially my mother. The first words she said when I got home were ‘what are you going to do now if they take away your licence?’ There was nothing to say to her. All I could do was keep quiet. I am afraid of my mother, she is worried they’ll take away my licence to box and where I’ll go to from here.
In fact, Viola was so shocked by the press conference bust up that she collapsed when she heard the news and was rushed to hospital.
Keen to make his opinion heard, Chisora’s dad also told off his son for disgracing the family and acting immaturely. 53-year-old Paul told the Sun:
I told him in no uncertain terms that I was very, very disappointed by his behaviour. It is time he grew up. He should concentrate on perfecting himself as a boxer. He does outrageous things but he doesn’t know it gets him into trouble.
Mummy and Daddy Chisora definitely aren’t a pair of proud parents right now.
