Simon Cowell is reportedly trying to woo R&B singer Estelle to the 2012 X Factor panel. Estelle has been rather quiet in the past few years so it comes as a major surprise that Simon would want to bring her on board. If she gets the job, it would definitely boost her status in the music scene.
An insider told The Sun newspaper:
Estelle’s name is very high on his list now and serious enquiries have been made as to her availability for auditions in May.
Kelly Rowland was a judge on last year’s X Factor panel, but she allegedly told Cowell that she is quitting the panel to focus on her career. That’s a real shame, her fiery personality will be sorely missed. Let’s just hope that Kelly’s replacement brings something special to the plate.
The remaining judges; Tulisa Contostavlos, Gary Barlow and Louis Walsh will all receive pay rises. It looks like Cowell is doing everything in his power to keep his employees satisfied and he even wants Cheryl Cole to come back. Ugh. He said
She could be a panellist again if she wanted to – 100 per cent. I don’t know if she would. I think she probably misses me.
I can’t help but laugh. What Simon doesn’t understand is that no amount of hiring and rehiring is going to boost this show’s popularity. The British public are simply getting tired of the same old formula. They want something original. Simon might have a business mind, but he clearly lacks creativity.
