Runs in the Family: Linford Christie’s Son Arrested on Drugs Charges
The son of former British athletics champion Linford Christie has reportedly been arrested and charged with dealing heroin and crack cocaine
The 26-year-old’s west London house was raided in May and August 2011 and he was believed to be arrested for supplying Class A drugs along with 23-year-old Muyiwa Famujimi, of Southall, and 22-year-old Luc Mangoung, of South Kensington.
Liam Linford Oliver Christie has (of course) denied charges and will be appearing in a west London magistrates court on 6 March.
Christie had initially rejected claims that Liam and his twin brother Korel were his sons when they were born following his short relationship with their mother. Christie only agreed to pay maintenance after a paternity test proved he was the father. When asked if he had told his dad, Liam said:
My dad is dead. I haven’t spoken to anyone. I’m just waiting to see what happens.
Linford Christie himself was once banned from athletics after being found guilty of using performance enhancing drugs, a charge he has always denied. The ban was later lifted.
