Paul Epworth, producer of Adele’s Rolling in the Deep, has revealed that Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s ‘Brooklyn Zoo’ was a major influence on the hit single.
Epworth told Uaudio.com:
When we were doing ‘Rolling In The Deep’ we wanted the impact and feeling of the track to have a little bit of ‘Seven Nation Army’ by The White Stripes. But for the bridges, we were trying to make the piano sound like ‘Brooklyn Zoo’ by Ol’ Dirty Bastard.
Now we’ve listened to Rolling in the Deep over a hundred times and have done the same for Brooklyn Zoo and we still can’t hear any similarities, but does this mean we can expect some gangster rap from Adele in the future?
