A mother who helped cover her sons tracks, after he killed a pensioner in the summer riots, may face jail.

Lavinia Desuze, 31, destroyed the clothing worn by her son Darrell after he punched 68-year-old Richard Mannington Bowes, causing him to suffer brain damage as he hit his head on the ground.

Desuze was yesterday convicted of perverting the course of justice. The offence carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Talk about an EastEnders storyline in the making!
