Great Britain’s women relay team left viewers all over the world glued to their TV screens during the 4×400 metre race on the final day of the World Indoor Championship in Turkey setting a new world-best of three minutes 28.72 seconds. The team, which included Christine Ohuruogu, Shana Cox, Nicola Sanders and Perri Shakes-Drayton, clinched first place despite a fall at the finish line by 23-year-old Perri.

Beating American Individual indoor world champion Sanya Richards-Ross in the final leg to clench the top spot is an achievement in itself,  but falling flat on your face in front of a stadium full of people and the rest of the world must be embarrassing… well at least she still looked cute in her bright pink nail varnish.
