Zipparah Tafari aka Mr Zip has become a household name after his hilarious performance on Britain’s Got Talent this evening. The hopeful rapper, who performed a song he wrote about losing his keys and phone, has been tipped for chart success by the judges on tonight’s audition show.
It’s good to see a change of topic from the usual drugs, guns and hoes, but losing your phone, really? Surprisingly the song had the whole of the PappzD team and the general public tapping their feet and gully creeping around their front rooms and even Simon Cowell gave the rapper a ‘Yes’, sending him through to the next round. Meanwhile #wheresmekeys became a trending topic on Twitter within minutes of Mr Zip’s performance.
The 49-year-old, who hails from Mosside in Manchester, is confident that Lost My Keys, Lost My Phone will be a hit single and told the judges:
This song will affect everyone, even Prince Charles. It’s going to be massive. It’s not a case of if but when it will be No 1. You can’t keep Mr Zip in the house. Mr Zip is global.
Humble much? Even a rather confused Simon said:
I don’t know where this is going to go…,
Before Amanda Holden piped up:
Probably straight to number one!
Alesha Dixon was also a fan, after singing the song back to him, she added:
You’ve been the highlight of my day so far.
Will we be seeing her on the ladies remix? Ah where mi weave, ah where mi comb?
