Lowkey released a statement through his social channels this week stating that he is to quit music.
The Obama Nation rapper, musician and political activist took to Facebook to say that he will be focusing on his education, though he may return to music one day.
Lowkey’s career is one that has been filled with controversy. He was called a ‘potential nightmare’ by Marcus Dysh, a writer for the Jewish Chronicle, regarding his involvement in the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
And he has also had public spats with Chipmunk, Ghetts and banned MTV from mentioning his name in Top 1 Selected saying “as far as I’m concerned MTV Base, never have to mention my name again, I don’t need your support”.
Well it’s a sad day for Lowkey fans but hopefully his ‘quitting music’ will be like the time Jay-Z said he’s ‘retiring’…
