The Gala Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations exhibition, or Met Ball, took place on Monday and as usual the event was watched by thousands of eyes all over the world.

You would think with all those eyes watching you, the last thing you want is to make a spectacle of yourself. But one particular lady let us Brits down with her outfit.

M.I.A didn’t quite manage to pull her red carpet look off, despite having all the tools at her disposal. Her Stella McCartney, floral print suit taps into both the Spring floral and androgynous trends, but her hair overtook the look and made it look much more scruffy than I’m sure was intended.

She also got in on the bold lip action with a stark chalky, pastel pink lip colour that perfectly matched the florals in her skirt suit, well at least something did.

We really think it’s about time the event organisers put a ban on people dressed up as gardens entering the venue, especially when they cant get it right.
