Apparently losing a bit of weight, being a white rapper and coming from east London are all enough similarities to get you mistaken for Professor Green these days, as The Metro newspaper demonstrated on Thursday morning.

The tattooed rapper was photographed with scripted reality TV star girlfriend Millie Mackintosh on the red carpet for Ill Manors which was written and directed by fellow white British rapper Plan B.

However, The Metro’s caption for the photo stated that Ill Manors was instead written and directed by Pro Green. Oh, did we already mention he’s white too?

Plan B’s motion picture, which illustrates how tough life can be on the streets of east London’s Forest Gate, premiered in Leicester Square last night in a glitzy, star studded opening attended by A-List celebs like Tinie Tempah and Jessie J.

However, it was Professor Green that had everyone talking the next day, after the newspaper’s blunder was quickly spotted by thousands of readers who took to Twitter and managed to make Ill Manors a trending topic.

It was probably only due to the outrage on Twitter that The Metro even realised their mistake and they immediately issued this feeble apology and attempt at a joke:

The moral of the story seems to be that the mainstream media think all white rappers look the same. At least they didn’t call him Eminem!
