Production staff from BBC’s The Voice have had to call in police after worries about racist comments being made towards 20-year-old ex contestant Ruth.

Ruth has been receiving nasty comments on her Twitter page since the start of the show but when online moderators from the BBC noticed the racist comments, they were reported to the police.  The crime clearly left Ruth upset who in an interview with The People said

Not only have I endured jibes of a racial nature but sick comments about my weight. Things have been said about my dad too.

Although the racist comments have been removed from the site, some appear to have gone under the radar and can still be found amongst many other positive tweets from Ruth’s fans.

A Spokesperson from London Metropolitan Police said on Sunday that there were no reports on any development on the matter.
