Will.i.am (rear-centre) with some of the Prince's Trust young adults

Looks like Christmas has come early for some! Black Eyed Peas frontman/The Voice judge/Twitter fiend Will.i.am took a rare break from tweeting his hectic schedule to drop in to youth music project Urban Development in east London this week.

During his visit he surprised the kids by promising to donate £15,000 worth of MacBook laptops!

A source said:

Will met around ten kids from the Prince’s Trust programme. They performed songs they had been working on and he gave them loads of advice. He really put in a lot of effort, comparing them to rappers like Nas and Busta Rhymes and suggesting business ideas and ways to promote their music.

As he was leaving he said he’d give them all a MacBook to help and asked the Prince’s Trust organisers to sort it out and bill him for the Apple gear. It was a great gesture.

The Voice judge has recently admitted that he relies heavily on technology in his music and isn’t the best singer in the business so he knows the difference that these resources can make.
