While for most people what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, unfortunately for boxer Amir Khan what happened to him in Vegas ended up all over the papers.
During a recent trip to Sin City the former world champion took a picture of himself in front of a stripper holding a wad of cash together with a caption reading ‘let’s play.’
However, he later deleted the photo after the 25-year-old devout Muslim was bombarded with angry tweets from followers claiming he was setting a bad example to fellow young Muslims, not mentioning an annoyed tweet from his fiancé Faryal Makhdoom.
The 20-year-old New York based student then tried to style out her frustration by tweeting
The tweet continued:
There’s a big difference between a strip club & a normal club. I think most of the clubs in Vegas do have pole dancers. Even I knew that lol.
Yeah. Right. *side eye*
Khan also revealed that it was less ‘I make it rain on them hoes’ money and more like ‘I’m standing here in front on an exotic dancer holding a bunch of fake money.’ Yes. Fake money.
Amir took to Twitter to apologise to those who were offended by his picture saying:
To be honest I don’t know what’s more embarrassing, admitting that you carry fake money or this tragic attempt at explaining himself.
