Meet The Adebanjos Family Picture

Everyone’s favourite Nigerian family is set to tread the boards at Catford’s famous Broadway Theatre to celebrate the one year anniversary of the popular sitcom.

Meet The Adebanjos chronicles the escapades of a modern British-African family living in London and after a successful run on numerous  TV channels the producers have finally bowed down to mounting pressure from the show’s loyal fans and are bringing the comedy to the stage.

Producer and creator Debra Odutuyo said the response to the show over the past year has been phenomenal with over 750,000 views online and millions of TV viewers worldwide.

Our plan for the live show is to take the same comedic fun that our viewers have enjoyed in their  living rooms  to the live stage. All the actors will be there and fans of the show will be able to get to see and meet their favourite stars in the flesh.

Meet The Adebanjos LiveOdutuyo says the hit sitcom was initially created for black Brits like themselves who, ignored by the mainstream channels, have been hungry for something that speaks to their own experience.

The hope was that viewers would easily recognise and identify with the show’s lovable characters including the hapless dad trying to instill strong African values into his children, the sassy kids and troublesome Aunty Funke.

For those who are just getting to know the show, Meet The Adebanjos promises its audience a great time watching the family and their friends play out their antics on stage.

Meet the Adebanjos Live is at Broadway Theatre in Catford on 14 July.
