Jessie J may have just signed a deal for the next series of The Voice UK, but producers of the BBC programme might want to take a long and hard look at themselves in the mirror before they even think of airing another series of the talent show.
The Voice was forced to cancel all of its live tour dates after it didn’t even manage to sell out a single venue. Not even one!
A spokesperson for the tour said:
Unfortunately, The Voice UK Live has been cancelled due to lack of ticket sales – customers are advised to contact their point of purchase for ticket refunds.
Damn right we’ll be getting refunds.
Touring isn’t the only problem for the show. Winner of The Voice, Leanne Mitchell failed to make it into the Top 40 with her rendition of Run to you by Whitney Houston, which is incredibly embarrassing as all the X Factor winners magically get number ones when they win.
The show is meant to be a rival to The X Factor, but can a show which fails to attract audiences or produce successful talent even be seen as a worthy opponent? We think not.
