Plan B is either extremely honest and brutal, or woke up on the wrong side of bed when he was interviewed by Shortlist magazine. The She Said singer/rapper told the publication that a reality show like the X Factor is basically for half talented pop stars with pretty faces that don’t event write their own shit. (his words not ours)

No disrespect to anyone involved in those shows but all they do is boost your profile as a celebrity. There are a lot of pop acts with just a pretty face and a half-decent voice. They don’t even write their own shit.

I’m lucky enough to have a gift that allows me to create things from nothing: music, films, fictional characters. Others don’t have that, so their work goes into their image as a celebrity. So, if I have a gift like this, wouldn’t I be neglecting it if I appeared on a show like ‘The X Factor’?

He also added that he’s very picky about who he works with, and revealed last year that he turned down the chance to work with Jay-Z.

I want people like [Jay-Z] to come to me and say, ‘I like what you’re doing, let’s collaborate.’ Otherwise, I’d just be licking their arse.

People stop me in the street and say, ‘I make music too – let’s collaborate.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know who the fuck you are, mate. You just want to ride off my success.’

Music should be a personal thing; the minute you start thinking, ‘Who can I get in with?’ you’re basically saying you don’t give a fuck about artistic expression. You only give a fuck about money.’

Yikes. You heard him guys, no more stopping him in the street. And Simon don’t even think about calling Plan B to perform on BGT or X Factor. He’ll say no and probably swear at you too.
