You would have thought that the return of new judge Nicole Scherzinger would’ve been the main talk of the X Factor’s brand new series but it seems the appearance of former Spice Girl Mel B had us kind of forgetting about Scherzy.
It’s rumoured that X Factor bosses were so impressed with Mel’s feisty and brutally honest judging that they’re already making plans to make her a permanent judge for the 2013 series of the show. Sorry Nicole.
And if that wasn’t bad enough it’s said that Nicole wasn’t even picked as first choice for producers. A source told The Sun that the former Pussycat Dolls lead singer was only chosen because Mel B was busy filming the Australian version of the show. The source explained:
Mel was our first choice. She was so quick and honest. You can’t let everyone down gently or the praise is meaningless… There’s a lot of money on the table for her next year.
Yeah and Nicole won’t be getting a sniff of it, poor thing. We do have to admit, Mel did steal the other judge’s shine and the woman was only on for ten minutes. Could bringing Mel B back give the X Factor some much needed, erm… spice?
