Double gold winning Olympian Mo Farah may be making his transition from athletics to reality TV much sooner than we expected.
It’s reported that X Factor boss Simon Cowell is planning on getting his hands on the athlete to recruit him as a mentor for this year’s series of the X Factor. Random… We know.
According to a source, Cowell’s plan is to include an Olympics-themed week during the live shows which will see Mo and other GB Olympians acting as mentors to capture the ‘spirit’ of London 2012.
The source revealed to the Sun:
Teaming up with our athletes means they can offer training and pep talks… People like Mo know about dedication and hard work. It’s only right we invite them to help us shape our future pop stars.
We know that the last year’s X Factor ratings were down by a massive 4 million viewers compared to the previous year, so producers are obviously feeling the pressure to revamp the show but is bagging an Olympian really going to do the job?
The new series on the X Factor starts tonight at 8pm on ITV.
