The Pappzd Team headed down to Hoxton bar and kitchen for the launch of Dru Blu’s album, This is Don Strapzy on Monday night.

The album features his biggest track Let Me Loose as well as the next single World Is Ours which is produced by Davinche and features Professor Green. The album also features Stylo G and English Frank.

Poets Corner hosted the night which also included performances from Davinche, Stylo G, Mad Young B and A.L. We especially enjoyed watching A.L do her thing and Dru Blu certainly got the crowd going – even inviting his fans on stage for his last song.

This is something he feels passionately about, as he told Pappzd:

Supporters, that’s who the album is for, that’s why I done a street album, my supporters tweet me everyday… So it’s a street album, it isn’t for the mainstream. I’m not looking to chart off it or get rich.

All proceeds for the event went to Broadway Charity who Dru Blu has worked with before in an attempt to raise awareness for homelessness in London. When Pappzd spoke to him he said,

Before I done music I used to work with underprivileged children; any chance I can help out I will

He also spoke of how his dream collaboration would be with Eminem or Adele.

We also spoke to A.L. about who she would like to collaborate with,

Labrinth and Angel, that would be wicked. Angel he is doing really well, and I love wonderful, when I heard it I was like what is this, my ears are being sweetened.

People always tell me I remind them of other artists, I just don’t see it, I think I’m just me. I don’t want to come into the industry trying to be someone else, I would be wrong in saying that no-one inspires me, that’s just lies
