Remember the shocking story of the Oxford Street Stabbing last Boxing Day in which a young man was murdered outside Footlocker in front of stunned crowds?
Well the two men accused of the murder of 18-year-old Seydou Diarrassouba (also known as Nutz) from Mitcham in south London, have been on trial at the Old Bailey since 15 October and entered their pleas today.
Jamaine Joseph, 23, and Thulani Khumalo, 20, both of Haringey north London, are accused Seydou’s murder, following his death from a single stab wound straight to his heart.
The court heard today that Seydou was pronounced dead only an hour after the attack which was carried out with a 10cm knife. Seydou was stabbed with so much force that part of the blade had broken on impact.
Originally, police thought that the attack was committed due to an argument over trainers in the Boxing Day sale at the Footlocker store but it’s now suspected to be a gang related incident.
Both men have pleaded not guilty and the trial continues at the Old Bailey.
