Michael Ayoade, 34, from Plaistow stood in court and admitted punching 16-year-old Tasneem Kabir as she walked to college, knocking her out.

Ayoade appeared at Thames Magistrates Court on Friday after violently punching petite Tasneem around the back of the head, knocking her unconscious.

Upon arrest, he told police on Wednesday night that ‘She started it’, and that she made him feel like a ‘pauper with her facial expressions’.

The court also heard that he couldn’t take ‘an insult like that from such a little person’.

Ayoade, who has an obvious scar on his cheek, was tipped off to police after the release of the CCTV footage giving his name and address.

He pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm for the daylight attack on Tasneem, who was left with three broken teeth, a split lip and a number of grazes on her face.

Ayoade was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Inner London Court at a later date.
