With the UK music scene dominating overseas over the past year, our very own Estelle and Ed Sheeran have been nominated for the 2013 Grammy’s, next February.
Ed Sheeran who’s had a phenomenal start to his career, has this year seen his debut album ‘+’ certified five times platinum in the UK.
Ed received a Grammy nomination in the Song of the year category for his hit The A team.
Previous Grammy winner Estelle is nominated in the R&B performance category for her song Thank you. Her previous Grammy win was for her collaboration with Kanye West for American Boy and this is her 4th career nomination at the prestigious award show.
The singer sexpressed their excitement on their nominations, on Twitter:
A team. A song I wrote with no home, no money, anything, nominated or best record at the Grammys. A dream come true. Ecstatic xxx

My Team and my darlings rock. Thanks for all the love. #GrammyNominated

Next year’s nominations may prove to look a lot fuller if stand-out soul vocalist Emeli Sande releases her album State-side. We’re sure she’ll bring a ton of Grammys home.
Also very intrigued that Jessie J didn’t make the list, as she had quite a few big songs over in the States within the last year.
Any other UK singles/albums you feel should have made this year’s nominations that didn’t?
