24-year-old Jamaican-born Damien Douglas of Ballance Road, Hackney, stood trial at the Old Bailey today for allegedly stabbing his ex-lovers new man on Wednesday 11 July 2012.
Today the jury was told of how Douglas found stab victim Kemar Duhaney, 21, and also Jamaican, of Bruce Grove, Tottenham, in his ex’s bedroom half naked.
It is alleged that Douglas lost his temper and the pair took their argument outside onto Buxhall Cresent, Hackney, where Kemar was stabbed in the chest.
Police and paramedics where called to the scene at around 11.47am.
Kemar received open heart surgery in hopes of saving his life but later died in hospital.
Back in October Douglas stood at the Old Bailey for the first time and failed to make a plea.
The jury is expected to come to a decision after the next two weeks leading up to Christmas.
The trial continues.
