Nelson Idiabeta, 18, who is currently on trial at the Old Bailey for the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Kwame Ofosu-Asare in March of this year has continued to deny his involvement in the attack.
Although he admits to being present when the incident took place, he blamed someone he has only named as ‘X’ for the stabbing, saying that he asked ‘X’ to stop with the attack but didn’t intervene for fear of his own safety.
He also claims that the knife that he was alleged to have been holding behind his back was actually him trying to hold up his trousers.
However, prosecution claim that the man named ‘X’ is in fact fellow TN1 gang member Nathaniel Okusanya,19, who also chased Kwame before the attack.
The trial continues.
