Man City midfielder Yaya Toure has been given the African Footballer of the Year award for the second year in a row.

The 29-year-old Ivorian native beat fellow African footballers Didier Drogba (who came in second place) and Alex Song (who came first) to the title at the awards ceremony in Accra, Ghana.

Toure won the award through a poll vote of head coaches and directors of the Confederation of African Football and will be playing with his team Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins next month.
