It’s official! Adele will be performing at the Oscars in Los Angeles on 24 February 2013.
The Tottenham-born star will be gracing the stage for the first time since giving birth to baby “Angelo James” (name according to The Sun), to sing Skyfall, the Bond theme she co-wrote with Paul Epworth.
Adele confirmed the exciting news as she said,
It’s an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again…
It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once!
The Oscar nominated song, Skyfall has already won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song which is why it is not surprising that there are high hopes for the song to win an Oscar as well.
The producers of this year’s Academy Awards show, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, were additionally quick to sing Adele’s praises stating,
We have enormous respect for Adele’s unique artistry as a songwriter and a singer…
She is currently one of the most successful recording artists in the world, and we believe that her performance of Skyfall will be an exciting Oscar moment for audiences watching…
If Adele’s Grammys performance last year is anything to go by, then Wow! Just Wow!
I, for one, cannot wait to see Adele perform Skyfall at the 85th Academy Awards and show the world what Britain has to offer!
