Felix Yorke, of Luton Bedfordshire went missing on 30 November last year and was last seen as he left work at the Topman branch in Luton’s Arndale centre.
The 25-year-old aspiring DJ was last seen at around 5pm on that day, after he finished his shift and has not been seen since.
A body was discovered on Tuesday at The Embankment, near the junction Shaftesbury and was recovered by police during the afternoon.
The body has yet to be identified as DNA and other test results are awaiting confirmation, but clothing and other items located and associated with the body, suggest that it is in fact Felix.
Felix’s family had reported him missing on 1 December.
Since the reporting of his disappearance, friends set up a Twitter campaign using the hashtag #findfelix to try and locate his whereabouts and a YouTube video pleading for his safe return was published on 5 December.
Felix’s website described him as an aspiring hip hop artist and his songs, Never Surrender and Goodbye For Now were uploaded just days before he was last seen.
Head of Missing Persons Unit, Sgt Gavin Conder said:
Assuming the outstanding identity checks prove it is him we have found, we are hoping that someone will know what he was doing in Bedford that night.
