Kevin Hutchinson-Foster, who admitted to passing Mark Duggan a handgun moments before he was shot by police, was found guilty by the jury at the Old Bailey today.
The court was told how Hutchinson-Foster, aged 30 from Hackney, gave Mark Duggan, 29, from Tottenham, a BBM Model 92 Handgun 15 minutes before he was stopped in a minicab by police on Ferry Lane, Tottenham Hale, and shot dead.
During the trial the armed officer who shot Duggan insisted:
I had an honest-held belief that Mark Duggan was going to shoot me or one of my colleagues, so I brought my MP5 (sub-machine gun) up to the shooting position
Duggan is then believed to have been shot in the arm and chest, however a separate inquest into Duggans’s death continues.
Kevin Hutchinson-Foster will now have to wait till 26 February to be sentenced along with two other charges of assault and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear.
