A Home Office pathologist has told the court that Mark Duggan’s injuries are not consistent with the injuries reported on the police account.

During the retrial investigating whether Kevin Hutchinson-Foster supplied Mark with a gun, Dr Simon Poole testified that whilst police reports suggested that Mark was shot in the chest on the right hand side with the bullet exiting through his back on the left; the post-mortem examination showed that Mark only had injuries to the chest and upper right arm.

Barrister for Kevin Hutchinson-Foster questioned Dr Poole in court saying:

…the scenario can’t be right? The officer fires to his left and the bullet hits Mr Duggan in the chest and it should go from left to right – but it went right to left. Therefore the scenario can’t be right?

Dr Poole replied:

I agree.

The trial continues.
