Tony McCluskie, 35, from Hackney has been found guilty and sentenced to 20-years imprisonment for the murder of his 29-year-old sister, Gemma McCluskie, who performed in the soap Eastenders back in 2001.
Gemma was first discovered missing back in March 2012 after she visited a friend and was alleged to have returned to her flat to find it flooded by her brother Tom, who had recently been smoking cannabis.
The argument is reported to have got out of hand to the point where he murdered his sister.
A few days later her torso was found limbless in a suitcase floating along the Regent’s canal. Her head was later discovered in September last year.
Tony McCluskie had pleaded guilty to manslaughter but not murder, insisting he doesn’t remember killing his own sister and butchering her body.
Regardless, the jury at the Old Bailey came to a majority decision today, finding McCluskie guilty.
Mr McCluskie’s father, Anthony McCluskie, has claimed he will stand by his son throughout the ordeal and the family are expect to give a statement shortly.
