A number of celebs headed out to the 2013 ELLE Style Awards yesterday at the Savoy Hotel and being an awards ceremony dedicated to style (duh), they all made sure they made an impression with their outfits.

Some got it oh-so-right, whilst others failed to hit the mark.

I like the idea behind Delilah’s suit, because hey, a woman doesn’t always need a dress to look sexy. But this suit isn’t sexy.

I don’t have major issues with the blazer and lace top, they’re actually quite cute but I’m mad at the trousers. They’re too long and make her look shapeless.

However, I do like the matching of the gold necklace and leopard print shoes and clutch.

Katy B

The slinky black dress with a very high slit, the cutesy Hollywood glamour looking hair and the sweet high heel sandals with the bow make Katy B’s outfit look like a sexy yet sweet 50’s actress.

But then there’s the tights.

Looking at them for a matter of minutes, I’ve realised that they remind me of some kind of robotic leg.

I’m a fan of everything else but I do wish she’d have left those tights at home.

Zawe Ashton

Zawe Ashton

Um, wow.

Isn’t this just… perfection?

I’m absolutely loving the metallic floor-length gown and the low cut sheer panel which adds some sex appeal to Zawe’s outfit. Along with the short pixie crop I can’t help but be reminded of some kind of Grecian goddess statue with this look.

She was right not to add any accessories around her face because let’s face it, we’re all looking at the dress anyway.

Naomie Harris

In this bright orange flowy dress with a pink panel at the back, Bond girl Naomie Harris reminds us that just because it’s cold and wintery outside, doesn’t mean we have to be all dull and gloomy.

I like that she’s tied in the dark colours of her belt, shoes and bag. It tones the look right down without looking  like two different styles.

Gemma Cairney

I’m not sure with this one. There’s nothing wrong with the dress but it is not the most flattering on Gemma’s figure.

As well as that, it doesn’t match the bold African design on her bag (which I love). The styling of her hair and the red lipstick would suit the dress if I wasn’t so distracted by how unflattering it is on her.

Winners: Zawe Ashton, Naomie Harris

Losers: Delilah, Katy B, Gemma Cairney
