At 8:35pm last night a stolen red Audi collided into a row of parked cars in the residential area of Leigh Road, Boothstown, Salford, instantly killing the two passengers inside.
Residents in the street told the authorities how the car burst into flames causing huge devastation to other vehicles and sixteen terraced houses.
We heard a screech and then it wasn’t so much a boom it was more like a thud. We went round the corner to see what had happened and immediately we saw the smoke a flames.
The stolen Audi involved in the crash was spotted just moments before by a police patrol car, however managed to get away.
GMP’s Assistant Chief Constable, Zoe Sheard, told the Daily Mail;
Two people have died as a result of this collision and our focus is now on identifying who those people are and informing their families.
