Alexandra Burke is due to perform in a number of concerts at the Royal Albert Hall this summer with covers of songs from Lady Sings The Blues – the soundtrack from the film of the same name based on Billie Holiday’s life.

Alexandra will be channeling two legends during these shows as the soundtrack features songs sung by Billie Holiday but was covered by Diana Ross, who played Billie in the autobiographical movie.

Speaking of the upcoming shows, Alexandra said:

It is an honour to be able to sing Billie Holiday’s songs and I feel a very strong emotional attachment to them. Music is my life and I love doing different and surprising things, so I can’t wait to get on stage and sing these amazing and timeless songs.

Alexandra will perform the songs from the film’s soundtrack with a full jazz band at the Elgar Room between 4 – 8 June. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday from 9am.
