On 1 June, Beyonce will headline a charity gig in conjunction with Gucci, at London’s Twickenham stadium titled Chime for Change to help promote education, wealth and justice for girls and women everywhere.
The event will also feature performances from Ellie Goulding, Florence + the Machine, Rita Ora, John Legend, Haim, Iggy Azalea, Timbaland and Laura Pausini.
Tickets will go on sale this Wednesday at 9am priced at £55 and the show has been underwritten by fashion label Gucci to ensure that all proceeds go to projects that the campaign has agreed to support.
Beyonce, who is the Chime for Change co-founder and concert artistic director said in a statement:
I am excited for us to come together on June 1 to bring the issues of education, health and justice for girls and women to the world stage.
Gucci creative director and Chime For Change co-founder Frida Giannini claimed that event was an emergency and opportunity of today, going on to say:
We have reached a significant moment in the history of girls’ and women’s empowerment and now is the time for change. On 1 June at Twickenham Stadium, I hope that The Sound Of Change Live will help the voices calling for change to become so loud that they cannot be ignored.
