A murder investigation has been launched after Musse Tahill Warsame Warsame, 24, who was found unconscious whilst travelling on a train from Wimbledon to Raynes Park, later died at St George’s hospital on Sunday.
British Transport Police were called to Raynes Lane station following a report that a man was taken ill on a train. Police believe that Musse from Kingston was involved in an altercation on-board the train prior to his death.
Detective Superintendent GaryRichardson who is investigating the case said:
Between Raynes Park and Wimbledon stations he was involved in an altercation with another passenger.
What we know at this stage is that Sammy was involved in an incident before he died, and whilst we work to establish the cause of his death, we’re appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
A post-mortem was carried out yesterday to determine the cause of Musse’s death.
