Scotland Yard have confirmed that two men that were involved in police chase have died after crashing into Seven Sisters bridge in Tottenham.

The collision happened after the Audi that the men were in rand a red light, hit a white van then crashed into the bridge. It occured after the Audi drove pass police officers at around 2am and raised suspicions with the officers.

The driver, who tried to flee the scene following the crash, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while disqualified. The 30-year-old driver, who has not been named, was taken to hospital with injuries thought to not be serious.

A spokesman for the police said:

Two male passengers in the Audi, both believed to be aged in their late 20s or early 30s, were seriously injured.

Officers gave CPR prior to the arrival of ambulances, but both were pronounced dead at the scene. Inquiries continue to establish the identity of the two men.
