Cherelle McKenzie-Johnson, 14, and Marc Anthony Tulloch, 17, were collectively sentenced to 18 years in jail today for the fatal stabbing of 15-year old Junior Nkwelle in September last year.
McKenzie-Johnson ordered her boyfriend Tulloch to “teach Junior a lesson” after she got into an argument with him. She went back to her house, getting a knife from her kitchen to give to Tulloch.
Prosecutor QC Jonathan Turner said it was likely that Tulloch and the victim did not know each other, let alone have a dispute. However, McKenzie-Johnson persuaded her boyfriend to stab Junior, spending an hour on the phone to him convincing him to do so.
The pair were found guilty of manslaughter after the court decided that they did not intend to inflict serious harm on Junior. McKenzie-Johnson was jailed for eight years with Tulloch receiving a sentence of 10 years.
